The Department of Genetics was created in November 2002 through the merger of the existing Department of Human Genetics with the Department of Genomics and Pathobiology. The department is comprised of an interdisciplinary group of faculty focused on performing basic laboratory and clinical research; providing inpatient and outpatient consultation services; and offering state-of-the-art molecular diagnostic and cytogenetic testing. GENERAL GUIDELINES:

  1. The sponsoring organization will pick up the key to the Finley Conference Center in KAUL 230.
  2. The sponsoring organization is responsible for all set-up and take-down. Space must be left in the same configuration as found. Any damage or loss to the room or its equipment is the responsibility of the sponsoring party and will be charged by internal requisition to the FAS Account number that you provide. (Please note that a FAS ACCOUNT NUMBER IS REQUIRED TO SECURE YOUR RESERVATION).
  3. Nothing should be taped, tacked, stapled, etc. to the walls, doors or windows.
  4. Food is allowed; however, the sponsoring party is advised to assign an attendant to monitor its delivery/ set-up/ serving.
  5. All trash should be picked up, securely bagged, and placed in the lobby of the MCLM freight elevator at the end of the event.
  6. Cancellations for events scheduled in the Finley Conference Center require 24 hours advance notice. Failure to give sufficient notice could result in the loss of scheduling privileges.
  7. There may be rare occasions in which you will be "bumped" from the room. If this happens, you will be notified with as much lead-time as possible.
  8. Any cleaning or other expenses incurred by the Department of Genetics as a result of this booking will be the responsibility of the sponsoring party.
  9. Due to staffing limitations, the booking party should be prepared to provide their own technical assistance.
  10. The sponsoring organization will verify that the facility is securely locked at the end of the event, and will promptly return the key to the Department of Genetics (KAUL 230). Failure to return the key will result in a $50 fee and/or loss of scheduling privileges.
